12 Verses for Your Anxious Heart

My heart and mind have been going what feels like 100mph lately. The anxiety, negativy, worry, doubt, etc feels all-consuming at times. I know I can’t be the only one feeling this way…

When I get to this point, the only thing that can bring me out of it and through it is faith. Worship music, prayer, and scripture are my three go-to’s.

For now, let’s focus on scripture. Here are 12 verses to help you when you have that anxiousness in your heart and mind that you can’t seem to fight your way through.

They are so powerful, yet simple and have helped me immensely. I hope they can help you too!

Here we go…

Jeremiah 29:11

Had to start with my favorite verse! I can’t remember how I came across this verse for the first time, but it was in my high school/college years. And wow did it get me through some dark and lost days fully fearing the future and what it would bring. To this day, when I begin to fear the future, this verse rings constant to me.

Philippians 4:8

At church, we recently finished a series focused on the book of Philippians and this verse spoke to me. I had heard it before, but in this current chapter and season of my life it just really hit close to my heart- maybe it will for yours too.

Philippians 4:6

Another incredible verse from the book of Philippians. This puts it so simply. When those anxious thoughts hit, it’s time to pray!

Matthew 6:34

TRUE!!!

Deuteronomy 31:6

Why do I get so anxious, if I know He is always with me? There’s just no need to be!

Isaiah 41:10

Same thing again, God will always have our backs. No matter what situation we are in!

2 Timothy 1:7

This means the anxiousness we feel in our hearts and our minds isn’t from God, but from the enemy. So we have gotta just let it go! Not today, Satan!

Romans 15:13

If we are filled with joy and peace by God, there is no room for fear or anxiety, or worry!

John 14:27

If God has given us His peace, then we shouldn’t let anxiousness push that to the side.

Proverbs 3:5-7

When we lean on our own thoughts and try to be wise in our own eyes, that’s when we can be easily distracted by the enemy.

Romans 8:38-39

Nothing can separate us from him, so why be anxious? No matter the circumstance, the fear, the to-do list, the ‘what if’s’, etc we will never be separated from his love. And that’s what truly matters- not any of the other stuff!

Matthew 6:25-27

Can any of us add time to our days and lives by worrying? Then why do we do it? This scripture puts it so simply- worrying gets us absolutely nowhere. We have no need to worry, because God loves us and will care for us.

I hope these verses help you when you are feeling some serious anxiousness in your heart and mind! Feel free to screenshot these graphics and share, or save this link to come back to in the future.

All the love,

Kylie
